Enable/Disable Javascript and Stylesheets

Netscape | Internet Explorer | AOL | Opera | icab | Other and recommended browsers

Simply reloading the page, rather than restarting the browser after making the changes, may be sufficient
under some browser versions.

Netscape 3.x
Go to the Options menu and select Network Preferences
Change to the "Languages" tab
To enable: make sure "Enable JavaScript" check box is
checked
To disable: make sure "Enable JavaScript" check box is
unchecked
Click OK and click the Reload button on the toolbar or restart the browser.
** JavaScript may not work properly on older versions Netscape, so you may want to consider upgrading your browser to the latest versions of Netscape.

Netscape 4.x
Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences
Select "Advanced" in the left panel
To enable: make sure the "Enable JavaScript" and "Enable style sheets" check boxes are checked.
To disable: make sure the "Enable JavaScript"and "Enable style sheets" check boxes are unchecked.
Click OK and click the Reload button on the toolbar or restart the browser.

Explorer 3.x
Go to the View menu and select Options
Change to the "Security" tab
To enable: make sure "Run ActiveX scripts" check box is
checked
To disable: make sure "Run ActiveX scripts" check box is
unchecked
Click on the Advanced tab and check the box Use style sheets.
Click OK and click the Refresh button on the toolbar or restart the browser
** JavaScript and stylesheets may not work properly on older versions Internet Explorer, so you may want to consider upgrading your browser to the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Explorer 4.x
Go to the View menu and select Internet Options
Change to the "Security" tab
Select "Custom" and click on the "Settings..." button
To enable: make sure "Enable" is selected under "Active
scripting"
To disable: make sure "Disable" is selected under "Active
scripting"
Click the General tab and the Accessibility button on the bottom right.
Check the following boxes:
Ignore color on Web pages;
Ignore font style on Web pages;
Ignore font sizes on Web pages
Click OK to back out to the Internet Options dialogue box.
Click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to the heading Print background
colors and images and check this box (optional).
Click OK and then click the Refresh button on the toolbar or restart the browser

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 (Macintosh)
Go to the Edit menu and click Preferences
Click the Web Content option under the Web Browser
section.
Check the following boxes:
Show Style Sheets;
Allow page to specify colors;
Allow page to specify fonts;
Click OK and click the Reload button on the toolbar or restart the browser.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 (Windows)
Go to the Tools menu and click Internet options
Click the General tab and the Accessibility button on the bottom
right.
Uncheck the following boxes:
Ignore color on Web pages;
Ignore font style on Web pages;
Ignore font sizes on Web pages;
Click OK to back out to the Internet Options dialogue box.
Click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to the heading Print
background colors and images and check this box (optional).
Click OK and then click the Refresh button on the toolbar or restart the browser.

AOL Browsers
Go to the My AOL menu, click Preferences.
Click WWW.
From the Security tab, click Custom Level.
Scroll to Scripting. From Scripting of Java applets, click to select Enable.
Click OK. Click OK again.
Close Preferences.
Restart the browser

Go to the keyword Netscape.
Download the Netscape browser.
Use this browser with AOL in order to access and use JavaScript-enabled sites.

Opera 3
Go to the Preferences menu and click Document Appearance.
Check the following boxes:
Enable document CSS;
Document CSS priority;
Click OK and click the Reload button on the toolbar or restart the browser.

Opera 4,5.x or higher
Go to the File menu and click Preferences.
Click on the 'Plugins' icon.
To enable: make sure "Enable JavaScript" check box is checked.
To disable: make sure "Enable JavaScript" check box is unchecked.
Click the Documents option and in the Presentation
modes section check the following boxes:
Document CSS (Document);
Document fonts and colors (Document);
Document mode as default;
Click OK and click the Reload button on the toolbar or restart the browser.

iCab
Click the Edit menu and click Preferences.
Find Web Content in the list on the left panel and click Stylesheets in that list.
To enable: make sure "Enable Stylesheets" check box is checked.
To disable: make sure "Enable Stylesheets" check box is unchecked.
For scripting:
Click the View menu and click "Enable Scripting" to check (turn on JavaScript) or uncheck (turn off JavaScript).
Click the Reload button on the toolbar or restart the browser.

Other Browsers
If you are using another browser, please check your browsers' documentation for instructions about how to turn on JavaScript and stylesheets. However, JavaScript and stylesheets may not work properly on these browsers.
